Tips for designing the perfect hallway

Hallways can be a tricky space to design.  They are often narrow with no natural light, but never fear,  there are loads of ways to make your hallways come to life.

Create a focal point.  Highlight the back of the front door with paint or trim, install an accent light over your favorite piece of artwork, or simply display your most unusual accessory as a statement piece.

Lighting is key. Utilize as much natural light as possible by placing a mirror opposite a window. Sconces, ceiling lights and lamps on a table cast a soft glow.

Anchor the hallway with a runner.  A bold splash of color or a neutral pattern will add a touch of softness to the space.
